Thunder and wind together. The centered one stands firm and does not change his way.
Classical (Legge)(The trigrams for) thunder and wind form Hang. The superior man, in accordance with this, stands firm, and does not change his method (of operation).
The Changing Lines
Deepening what is already long-continued. Even with firm and correct, misfortune. No advantage in any direction.
Classical (Legge)(The subject of this line) deepens his long-continued efforts. Even with firm correctness there will be evil; there will be no advantage in any direction.
All occasion for regret disappears.
Classical (Legge)All occasion for repentance disappears.
He does not continuously maintain his virtue. Others will call this a disgrace. However firm he may be, there will be regret.

Persisting in virtue with correctness. For a wife, good fortune. For a husband, misfortune.

Restless in his persistence. Misfortune.
